Pressure Cooked Sticky Chilli Beef Ribs
When it comes to cooking ribs, I’m quite impatient, so cooking them quickly in a pressure cooker suits me perfectly. This is one of my favourite pressure cooked rib recipes that works for more than just ribs and is sure to please all you rib lovers out there!
Ingredients
- 2 kg of Beef Ribs from Sage Beef
- 500 ml Beef Stock
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 Brown Onion, peeled and minced.
- 4 Garlic Cloves, peeled and minced.
- 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1/2 cup White Vinegar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 2-4 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp fresh coarse ground Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Whiskey
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 6 Tbsp Chilli Flakes
What you will need:
- Pressure Cooker
- Large frying pan
- Basic kitchen utensils
What you need to do:
- Trim fat off the ribs and sprinkle with the salt and rub the salt all over the ribs and leave for 10 minutes.
- Prepare all other ingredients and throw them into the pressure cooker and start cooking it up.
- Heat up the oil in the frying pan and brown off the ribs prior to putting in the pressure cooker. Making sure you render as much fat as possible.
- Throw ribs into the pressure cooker and cook for 30-40 minutes until the beef on the ribs are almost falling off.
- Once ribs have cooked to your liking, remove them from the pressure and simmer the sauce down until it’s nice and thick.
- Serve hot and use the extra sauce as dipping sauce to flavour your ribs. Enjoy!

Cooking Tips:
- Mince the onion and garlic in a hand blender; I put the vinegar into the blender as well to make it easier to empty.
- There is no real science to pressure cooking but make sure you keep alert around the 30 minute mark, if it smells like it’s burning, take it off the heat.
- Add chilli to your taste, I actually put a lot more in 🙂
